What we collect
The Spotify track you choose, an optional name, an optional reason, and an optional point in the race. You don't have to use your real name — a nickname works just as well, so nobody can identify you from the site. To stop duplicate votes we store a random anonymous code created by your browser (scrambled before saving). We also count anonymous page and button events. We don't collect emails, accounts, or locations.
Why
To build and rank the community playlist, prevent duplicate voting, moderate text, and understand how the site is used overall.
How long
Submissions and votes are kept for the life of the project and deleted within 12 months after the London Marathon 2027. Anonymous event counts are deleted within the same period.
Spotify
Song details and links come from Spotify. If you choose to create the playlist in your own Spotify account, we only ask permission to create and edit playlists, use it once, and don't store your Spotify access.
